HanseMesse - Exhibition Centre in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania
In April 2002 the HanseMesse was opened as an international fair and exhibition centre with a total area of about 10 hectares (25 acres). The planning and blueprints came from the renowned Hamburg architects’ office von Gerkan, Marg & Partner (gmp), who have designed other exhibition centres in such major cities as Rimini, Italy, and Nanning, China. The exhibition hall offers a variety of opportunities in Rostock for all types of events and functions.
The pavilion has a width of 65m (213 ft) and a length of 165m (541 ft). It has an impressive wooden vaulted ceiling (20.5m max. height), and the exhibition hall can be divided into two or three separate areas when required. The mobile wall elements store the telescoping stands, and, without seating, the hall can hold up to 10,000 people (standing).
Five gateways enable heavily laden lorries to drive into the hall from the south side. Large lorries can also access the interior of the hall through gates on the east and west sides. The end walls are fully glazed and open up the interior. They flood the building with natural light and support its integration into the surrounding landscape.
In the case of strong sunlight, sun blinds can be used to darken the windows.
The spacious formed lobby on the northern side is very inviting. There you can find two cloakrooms, two tightly stalled catering areas for refreshments and services, rooms for the security guards, sanitary areas as well as an organizational office.
An exceptional feature of the fair hall is the direct connection to the conference rotunda. Because oh this, there are interesting opportunities for combining conferences and exhibitions.
The air-conditioned rotunda is a transparent conference building, surrounded by a colonnades roof and as well as a roofed over distance between the rotunda and the fair pavilion.

Concerts & Events
The HanseMesse is an all-round venue offering nearly unlimited possibilities for concerts, shows or events.
The exhibition hall can be used for a number of different purposes. It functions as an ice-skating rink, a circus ring, a techno temple, a theatre, a racetrack and festival grounds. Extendible telescoping stands offer seating for up 1,000 people, and, with additional variable seating, thousands of spectators can be accommodated in the totally darkened hall.
Up to 10,000 fans without seating, or 6,000 fans with seating, can cheer for their stars in this hall. Smaller spaces can be created using dividers.
There are eight cloakrooms for artists. Rooms are also available for security and first-aid personnel.
The best place for an after-show party or the VIP area is the rotunda.
Accessible entrances enable everybody to take part in all events. The gates have a width of 4.40 m and a height of 7.40 m, making it easier to load and unload large lorries without any problems. Additionally a ground-level connection to the open-air area opens up additional possibilities.
With additional expenses for decorations, the hall and the rotunda can be transformed into magnificent rooms. Our equipment inventory provides a number of possibilities. We can make arrangements for culinary highlights, together with our catering partner.
